Community Wealth into Power 💰⚡️❤️

Every year around this time, I find myself holding my breath. A COP meeting rolls around, the headlines flood in, protesters march, and I brace for yet another disappointing outcome. Another round of world leaders kicking the can down the road, leaving a bigger mess for whoever comes after. Another reminder that the people at the top are not coming to save us.

It used to crush me. Now it just annoys me.

Because when I look around at where real progress is happening, it’s never in the halls of power. It’s in community halls. It’s in church basements, zoom rooms, and co-op boardrooms. It’s in groups of neighbours who decide they’re tired of waiting and start building the future themselves.

I was reminded of this recently when a longtime client told me about a community solar project they invested into years ago. “Tim,” they said, “I did it for the planet, but I had no idea how proud it would make me feel every time I walk by those panels.”

That’s community wealth. That’s community power.

And here’s the truth that gets me out of bed each morning:

Wealth is power. And communities have far more wealth than we realize.

When regular people pool their money—even small amounts—they become a force that can fund solar co-ops, oversubscribe green bonds, refinance local climate projects, and build the kind of future most politicians can't even fathom.

The solution won’t come from the rich and powerful. It will rise from people who care enough to act. People like you and me.

That’s why I’m so excited about our upcoming event.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 25 at 4pm ET, we’re doing something brand new: recording an episode in front of a live studio audience.

It’s all about accessibility. You can join live in person. You can stream it live online. You can watch the recording later on YouTube or listen on our podcast. You can join from your kitchen table, your office, while walking your dog, wherever.

And you should—because this one matters.

If you care about climate change, if you want to put your money where your heart is, if you’ve ever wondered how to directly support community power… this conversation is for you.

You don’t need permission from a politician or a billionaire to help fix the future. You only need the desire to participate with a small slice of your retirement savings.

I hope you’ll join us.
